For this project, we were tasked with transforming a spa treatment room at Center Parcs Woburn Forest with a calming night sky theme, complete with a starlit ceiling designed to help guests fully relax during treatments.

The ceiling presented a real technical challenge. It had a heavily stippled, textured surface, which made achieving a smooth, even night sky finish far more difficult than painting a flat surface. On top of that, the room needed to withstand the hot, humid conditions typical of a spa environment, so durability and moisture resistance were essential considerations throughout, from paint selection to the final finish.

The result was a rich, deep night sky ceiling scattered with stars, creating an immersive, tranquil atmosphere for guests to unwind in. The spa’s designer was delighted with the outcome, commenting that the finished room looked amazing, and that fibre optic lighting would be added to complement the effect even further.

This project is a great example of how a hand-painted mural can solve challenges that other finishes simply can’t — adapting to a difficult surface and demanding environment while still delivering a striking, atmospheric result.
