My clients are property developers who had at last, got round to developing their own beautiful home. The main living space was a large room with a central fireplace. When they had started the project, a few years ago now, they had fallen in love with a Designers Guild wallpaper and had considered that to be a done deal for the two main walls in this area; bright and busy wallpaper, that they adored the colours of. However, when they went to order the paper, they were told that it was discontinued and so began the journey with Charlotte Designs.
They originally asked me to reproduce the wallpaper, but after discussions with the client, we came to the conclusion that the original wallpaper would be too busy for the room. So I set about using some of the flower and leaf shapes, to create a less busy version for them.

Allowing the background colour to be more dominant gives a more calming feel and reduces the dominance of the wallpaper in the rooms. Keeping the colours was very important to my clients and so we used a very similar colour pallette, which works well with my clients gorgeous antiques.
“We absolutely love it, thank you so much.” said Keith Bartholomew after the project was finished.
