About Sarah Hodgkins - founder of Charlotte Designs
I am Sarah Hodgkins, an Interior Designer with over 20 years experience of designing everything from hotels and offices to rural cottages and warehouse developments. I love nothing more than to help my clients make the most of the space they have available to them. Giving them the home, office or workspace that they have always dreamed of and stop them making expensive mistakes.
After the birth of my second child, I set up Charlotte Designs initially to create interiors where children want to be. I wanted to make it easy for parents to get what they want and what their child deserves, without having to spend a fortune. It isn't until you have your own children, that you realise how important their surroundings are. I wanted my own children's imaginations fed wherever they happened to be. I wanted their own rooms to be as unique and individual as they are, reflecting their own interests and personalities. You are only a child once, and those memories last forever. Why not make them as beautiful as they can be.
More often than not, the schemes I design include a mural and now that is the main focus of my work. I design and paint murals for schools, businesses, hospitals and residential homes, as well as childrens bedrooms and playrooms. Very few mural artists have an interior design background, and the fact I am a Mum too, enables me to offer a unique service.
I now run Charlotte Designs and look after my family, juggling the demands of both like so many working Mum's. I also runs local groups of Women in Business Network, a ladies networking group, which offer training and support to similar female entrepreneurs.
